FVREB eMemo: Call for Nominations — 2026

Nominations are now open for members interested in running for Director or Officer positions with the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board for the 2026 term.

 

Fresh ideas, new perspectives, and critical thinking are vital to enhancing the Board’s value to members and its impact on our profession and the communities we serve.

 

This coming term there are three (3) director positions open for a two-year term and two (2) officer positions open for a one-year term, beginning April 1, 2026.

 

Eligible nominees must be a member in good standing and satisfy the qualifications as set out in section , namely:

 

7.2 Qualifications of Directors

 

Pursuant to the Societies Act, individuals may not be nominated, elected, or appointed to serve (or continue to serve) as a Director if they:

(a) are less than eighteen (18) years of age;

(b) have been found by any court, in Canada or elsewhere, to be incapable of managing their own affairs;

(c) are an undischarged bankrupt; or

(d) have been convicted of a prescribed offence within the prescribed period, for which no pardon has been granted, in accordance with the Societies Act.

In addition to the foregoing, an individual may not be nominated, elected or appointed to serve (or continue to serve) as a Director if they:

(e) are not an Active Member in good standing;

(f) have been suspended by the Board, by BCFSA or by any other real estate board in British Columbia within the previous twelve (12) months; or

(g) have ever been expelled or otherwise removed from membership in the Board or any other real estate board in British Columbia.

We’re looking for volunteers who are committed to our members’ growth and professionalism, who share a passion for advancing the Fraser Valley Board’s role as a vital partner in the housing ecosystem, and who bring the following core requirements:

  • Knowledge about real estate and the industry
  • Governance experience
  • Ability to lead, think critically, listen, and learn
  • Desire to act in the best interests of the FVREB and exercise care, diligence, and skill
  • Availability to meet the time commitment (approximately 10-15 hours per month, including some travel and evening meetings)

Applications will be accepted between September 22, 2025 and November 15, 2025. Successful nominees will be eligible to run for election at the 2026 FVREB AGM on March 12, 2026.
